Jakarta/Bali Photo Diary.

During my birthday last July, I decided to spend it somewhere out of town and Jakarta & Bali came to mind. It was "a first for everything adventure" (I've never been to either places and it was my first birthday trip out) and all I can say is it was the best (most tiring as well due to long hours on the road traveling from one place to another) one yet.

On the first night at Jakarta, we were dining at this authentic Indonesian restaurant called Harum Manis and I left the restaurant with good memories of the wonderful food they served and promise myself to return again.

The next day, we flew to the lands of God - Bali!!!

We stayed in St Regis, Nusa Dua and boy the resort is so freaking huge. It's like a little island on its own. I wish I wouldn't have to go back :(

The pool suite was ultimately heaven like and the beach + ocean was amazing.
Gelatos at Gourmand Deli were superbly smooth and creamy (I had the durian flavour and it was so good) and this makes me wonder why we can't have such texture and taste here?

Birthday did.din at Bumbu Bali Restaurant.
It was good as expected and the sate lilit was amaze balls.

Late breakfast at Boneka. Loved how they decorate the place with life-sized puppets on top.

Went to Ubud afterwards and you would be crazy not to try their babi guling special at Babi Guling Ibu Oka. Basically they served roast pork with rice and the pork was so mouthwatering that it just burst out with tons of flavours from the spices they used to marinate the whole pig.
Not to mention how crazily crispy the pork skin was!

Walking around Ubud town and Tegalalang Terrace Paddy Field.

Enjoyed watching a Kecak dance at Uluwatu temple and witnessed a beautiful sunset along the way.

Seafood din.din along Jimbaran beach.
Teh Botol is a must-order drink at any place in Indonesia.

Brunch at Kayuputi. The wagyu beef burger was the best among the lot.

Macarons and final sunset watch at the Rock Bar, Ayana Resort before leaving back to Jakarta.

My last night in Jakarta at Blowfish. It has superb music going on and it also got me crazy drunk. Hangover food the morning after via room service. Nasi goreng kampung with ayam percik. Uber good.

This sums up my week at Jakarta and Bali and I really hope to return soon again.

There is so much I have yet to explore!

Priority list.

Ever since I got this wonderful book as a birthday gift from one of my besties, I've been reading up on almost all of the recipes there are in it and I can't help to feel like heading straight to the kitchen and whip up some delish cookies, pies and cakes. However as usual, I procrastinate. Not having enough of this ingredient or I don't have that equipment throws me back to not do anything. To be honest, it's been awhile since I bake. With that being said, after much "persuasion" from those who knows I bake, I will make this as my priority now!

First night with Movenpick.

After flying for 12 hours from Malaysia - Switzerland, we were in need for good food & Movenpick is where we went to. They are famous for their ice cream(no artificial colourings or flavourings mind you) however we still need meat in our systems (we're true blue blooded carnivores) and we ordered a traditional swiss dish that consisted with tons of yummy cheese, chicken wings, veal sausage with rosti, french onion soup and lastly the infamous ice cream sundaeeeeee.... Overall, it was a great din.din. night out eventhough we managed to dine there once due to work commitments :(

Something for the rainy days...

Had a crazy dream about my stomach got ripped off and sew back without me realising till I woke up and saw these huge long scars however it didn't really freak me out. Tell me about WEIRD. Still managed to get myself to a carnival and then back to reality. I guess the Halloween spirit in me is emerging and it's this weekend!!! Found this amazing recipe and the picca above from Cupcakes & Cashmere and I fully reckon you guys to try it at home...

Impromptu Visit.

Was supposed to have "tea" at Zang Toi due to my sudden craving for their signature choco banana cake with vanilla ice cream (forgotten how good it taste like and still taste great!) however we ended up having full course early dinner. Not to mention right after we had bubble tea at Chatime.

Monday itself...

I went to:-

1. Sent my car for wash. While I was waiting for the car to be squeaky clean, I went to get strawberry froyo from Yogurt Boyz which was my bfast that morning.
2. Did groceries and found something new at the frozen section. They have frozen mozzarella cheese sticks from TGIF!!!!! =D Now I have something to snack on when I'm hungry...
3. Made nutella brownies and boy the smell of it was intoxicating...
