Din.din. of the week ::: Ishin.

Been wanting to try Ishin out when I knew it opened at Old Klang Road recently. Finally got a chance to try it last night and it was not bad at all. Managed to dine in with a few seasonal offerings and overall it was a good experience! Will certainly return for more new adventures with Ishin and I ain't gonna give up on that mochi...

Happy Birthday to April Baby!

Last night, we went out to celebrate Cloris's Birthday and boy it's been sometime since we see each other. So much to tell, so much to listen and so many to eat! We decided on Michelangelo's since we're virgins from the place and the food was not bad after all. We ordered two starters and four main courses to share and we end it with a sweet note of surprise bf appearance and a birthday cake. Cocktails and Hoegaardens after dinner and we went back all giggly and happy.

Some random piccas below and have a great Sunday ;)

Weekend Din.din. 101.

After my grocery shopping and haircut, I rushed back home to start preparing the ingredients. As mentioned earlier, I'm gonna cook pork & mushroom burger and baked salmon steak.

Photobucket

Overall verdict ::: It was not bad actually. I'm not praising myself and I can get proof from my dear testers =P. The salmon steak was moist and fresh after baking and the cheese and herbs manage to compliment it. I add a little honey for a slight sweetness to it in case the salmon is too "fishy" for some of them. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside 'cos I tend to boil the potatoes first before I pan fry it with butter, salt, pepper and chives. As for the burger, I was not that satisfied and I feel I can do better. The loin was fresh, no doubt but I think I did not marinate enough with the herbs and olive oil to give it a kick. Thank god for the portobello mushrooms and caramilised onions to have more flavour with it.

That sums up my weekend dinner and hope for more cooking adventures to come!

January 1st 2010.

NY day was perfect! Start off with a lil shopping down town and found this amazing lace top for sale at Topshop. Was :D all the way to Snowflake for dessert and their boba tea was great. Then it was back home to get a quick nap and prepare for the night at The Press Room and TwentyOne for drinks after. I must say the food was excellent and I will definitely make a trip back there again.

As for now, I have some piccas to show you :)
