Hong Kong Photo Diary ::: Day One.

Apologies as this is a long overdue post and here it goes. Sometime in the middle of last month, my colleagues, Sab and I went to the land of duty free and all seafood galore which was Hong Kong!!! (I wish I'm there now) Since we only have four days of vaca, we've tried to squeeze in as many things/food we can do/eat as possible. Hence, the itinerary for the first day was:-

1. Breakfast at Oldtown - KLIA Airport Building before we board.
2. Rushing through the busy streets to the ferry pier to Central.
   
3. First meal of the day ::: Wanton Noodles by Mak's Noodle!!! =D

Let me emphasize more about Mak's Noodle (since food has always been my priority in all of my city travels). Ever since I've tried Mak's Noodle last fall 2008, the taste and texture of the wantons and noodles has never really left my mind. The prawns was generously big and crunchy (not to mention fresh and sweet). The noodle was springy and full of flavour (unlike some wanton noodles served here). When I came back here, I was in glee mood! The taste and texture of it has never changed. Even if the portion is small and it cost for about HKD30 per bowl, I would still return over and over again because this is probably one of the best wanton noodles I ever tried. On another note, I've managed to try out the beef tendon (or brisket?) introduced by Cherry aka DKJ and it was good! The tendons were marinated and boiled for hours to sustain the texture and flavours from the broth. Definitely thumbs up!

4. Natural routine to head to Pacific Coffee after purchasing the moist(est) + softest that can-melt-into-your-mouth egg tarts & egg cake from Tai Cheong Bakery.

5. Stroll around the city to The Peak!


6. Dinner time at Four Seasons Claypot. The claypot rice here was exceptional. Love how they let us "cook our own claypot rice" by adding the broth to our own liking and cover with the claypot lid for a minute or so. The amount of meat (depending on your order) given was just right and the rice was fragrant and "loose". The fried oyster is also one of the "must order" dish and it tasted just as good! The egg + oysters was balanced (not too starchy as well) and the chili paste was a good compliment to consume with it.

7. After-dinner stroll around Temple Street (didn't know there was so much porn around here)
8. Supper for some of us - finally got my egg pastry!!! =D

That sums up my first day at Hong Kong and will continue soon with the rest of my (makan) adventures.

Post vaca syndrome.

Am back and alive! Hong Kong has been awesome! Managed to munch on every food I can get (despite not getting my Hui Lau Shan) and the party scene was crazy loaded with alco and the guys of course ;) Tons of piccas to edit and post.

It's good to be back.

I'm back and alive!!! Macau was abit boring for me but Hong Kong was undeniably SUPERB. I love everything from the food, the people (surprisingly very nice and helpful), the streets, the clothes, the weather, the supermarket, the gourmet shops and beer is so effing cheap! I wish I could be there again and again and again. Anyway enough with the talk and start with the random piccas alright?
